Sonny & Liz (they're awesome)

Creating the florals for Sonny and Liz were a dream come true - they had a vision, a venue and left the rest to us. The venue was our fave, Kauri Bay in Clevedon, a contemporary blank canvas with a view that never gets old.

We dressed the copper arch with large blush roses, top to bottom, lined the aisle with floral gardens and suspended hanging florals from each beam inside. The deck was adorned with floral structures to surround the band and a flower wall photo booth set up for guests to take snaps. The details were in the hand painted welcome sign and seating charts - gold on white perspex framed in copper.

It was a huge amount to create in just one morning, we went down the driveway just as the bus of guests pulled up at the entrance. Nailed it.

Because she's amazing, Liz arrived in a helicopter (yep) to a waiting Sonny at the alter (the flower wall had to be held down when the chopper landed). Wearing the first of 4 gowns, this one from Hera Bridal, they said their I Do's in front of family and friends.

The dresses changed throughout the day (my absolute fave is the pink tule skirt and off the shoulder bodice) as they explored the hillside in their first few hours as husband and wife.

Later, the lights went down and the celebrations continued. At the reception, the couple were framed by their best men and beautiful maids, with florals above them, behind and a neon sign below.

If there's one wedding I'm extra proud of this season, it's this. Working with Sonny and Liz was such a fun, collaborative process, I feel very lucky to have such incredible brides and grooms who put their trust in us to create beautiful florals.

Thanks guys, you're awesome.
